What is Curated Care?

Curated Care is an online platform that connects families with Kid Experts (teachers and artists) who combine unique activities with babysitting—in your home & on your schedule.

 

How does it work?

Once you become a community member, you can connect with talented Kid Experts who will engage your children with enriching activities in your home or neighborhood. Services include activity-based child care, after-school pickup, tutoring, private lessons, and Curated Experiences. All our services allow you to instantly reach out to many of our Kid Experts for a specific date and time. Our platform lets you send messages, book sessions, and pay online, all on our website!

 

Who are Kid Experts?

Kid Experts are babysitters who possess degrees and artistic abilities: preschool and Montessori teachers, educators, language instructors, artists, musicians, and tutors. They are talented and skilled professionals who care for and engage your children with fun and meaningful activities in art, design, language, education, music, movement, science, and more.

 

What credentials do Kid Experts have?

Kid Experts have professional practice in a classroom, camp, or group setting and have experience in babysitting & child care. They all have unique talents they can incorporate into sessions and are all inspiring, fun, and creative people!

 

Do you perform background checks for Kid Experts?

Yep! Curated Care provides the most extensive background checks available, at no extra cost to our families. We take into account state and federal sex offender registries and county, state, and federal criminal databases. We also verify social security numbers, as well as last known residences. Safety and transparency are important to us, and that’s why you can verify the status of each Kid Expert’s background check in their profiles on our site.

 

What does it cost to join Curated Care, and what are the rates per session?

Are there recurring subscription fees?

Nope. While similar sites charge annual or monthly subscription fees, you only pay us when you need us. Curated Care adds a small service fee of 4% per session, which helps cover the costs of recruiting, checking backgrounds, and providing professional development for Kid Experts.

 

How do I pay Kid Experts?

Payment occurs on our website to make transactions between families and Kid Experts as simple and reliable as possible. After a session, Kid Experts confirm the hours worked and any additional fees, and you receive an invoice prompting payment. Families have 24 hours after a session to review the invoice, after which they are automatically charged for the service. All transactions are securely processed through Braintree Payments.

 

Are there additional fees?

Rates are all inclusive of meals, travel, and tip. Remember, Kid Experts provide a professional service and gratuity is not necessary. The best tip is just a “Thank you” and rebooking of your Kid Expert for another session! Kid Experts may charge additional fees for materials, multiple children, or special circumstances. Additional fees must be agreed upon, over the message center on our site, before a scheduled session.

 

Do I always need to book over the site?

Yes. By booking and paying through the site, Curated Care creates a secure, safe experience for all parties. Booking through the platform ensures that our team is on hand to support your family with any questions, concerns, or additional needs that arise. You’re also protected under our Terms of Service and cancellation and refund policies. We can’t offer these safeguards if reservations are not booked directly through Curated Care.

 

What if I’m in a pinch and need someone last minute?

You can send a booking request to multiple Kid Experts at the same time. Once someone accepts, the job is considered filled and the other requests are automatically canceled.

 

What if I need to cancel a booking?

Simply select “Bookings” on the main menu and find the date and time you’d like to cancel. Select “Details,” followed by “Cancel.” There are no fees for cancellations unless it is within 24 hours of a scheduled session, when a $25 charge will apply.

 

What if I have been overcharged?

Mistakes do happen. After receiving an invoice with an error, simply send a message through the site to your Kid Expert with the correct information and amount. Your card will not be charged provided this communication occurs within 24 hours of receiving the invoice. For your protection, remember to use our site’s message center for all conversations.

 

What do the star ratings mean?

Families can rate and review the Kid Experts they’ve booked, and Kid Experts can also privately rate and review families. Our talented professionals provide a premium service, and Curated Care allows them to be selective about who they work with. It also encourages professionalism from all parties.

 

Is Curated Care available in my area?

Currently, Curated Care is available in New York City, Hoboken, the Hamptons, and Jersey City, but there are plans to expand to all major metro areas in the United States! If we aren’t yet available in your area, simply register on the site and we’ll notify you once we’ve arrived in your neighborhood.

 

How do I deactivate my account?

Simply email us at hello@curatedcare.com with the request. Be sure to include your full name and the email address associated with the account, and we’ll send you a confirmation.
