There is so much to do during the holidays that it can be hard to find ways for your little one to be involved while still getting everything done on your to-do list. By the time you finish planning and prepping Thanksgiving, there’s little time to incorporate your child into the process. This activity allows your child to feel the spirit of the season even before Turkey Day has arrived.

- paper
- pen or pencil
- art materials (crayons, markers, stickers, etc.)

As parents, it's important to make sure that activities are age appropriate and that allergies or medical conditions are communicated as you see fit.

Sometimes, a materials or other additional fee is charged. We do this to bring you the best possible activities. It's the Kid Expert's job to confirm any such fee in advance.

Sample Activities and Instructions

First we will identify special Thanksgiving-themed items, for example: turkey, squash, leaves, corn, potatoes, table cloth, candle sticks, pilgrims, Mayflower, feathers, Native Americans - any and everything that could possibly fit into Thanksgiving-themed décor or cooking items.
Next we’ll add each item to a physical list that the child can hold while going on the hunt.
To make our list extra special, we’ll personalize it with crayons, markers, stickers – any of your child’s favorite art supplies!
Begin the hunt! We will search each room carefully for as many of these items as possible. For multiple items we’ll track how many of each item we have found. This is a wonderful activity for an older children to repeat on Thanksgiving Day. It gives them a fun task to complete while you are busy cooking, decorating or hosting the holiday!
