Sample Activities and Instructions

Fairies are known for living in nature. Think about where your fairy might live- by the ocean, woods, clouds, etc. Then, write a story about a day in the life of your fairy. Make sure to tell readers what their environment is like. Is it warm? Is it cold? Is it windy? Sunny? Rainy? Don't forget to tell us about their animal friends.
Once you have an outline of your story, create the pages with beautiful pictures. You can make the picture book 3D by adding a few special touches with the next few steps.
Draw a picture of the fairy's house. Then use scissors to cut around 2/3 of the door so that it swings open.
Glue on natural materials to add texture to the environment.
Cut a strip of paper and fold it like an accordion. Then draw your fairy, cut them out, and attach the cut-out fairy to the accordion strip. Connect the other end of the accordion to any page of your story!
