Edible Art is the meeting point of imagination and nutrition. It encourages creativity through the creation of artwork using healthy snack foods. From creating pets made of apples to cities made of celery, children have fun with healthy food while exploring character and environment creation.

Sample Activities and Instructions

Gather materials.
The child will decide if they would like to make a character, an environment, or both.
For characters: use an apple or an orange for the body. Choose raisins, grapes, celery, or sliced apples to make body parts.
For environments: use a paper plate and celery as the base of buildings, houses, trees, etc. Use peanut butter to secure the celery. Add other fruits and veggies to create the environment (i.e Raisins can be windows; sliced apples can be branches for trees).
Present your creation!
Eat up!
